Every yard is woven by hand. This is what that looks like.

The Capability

What no one else
in the Southeast
can produce.

Our 72-inch computerized Dobby loom is the only installation of its kind within a thousand miles. It produces fabric up to 72 inches wide with 24-shaft pattern complexity — the kind of intricate, exclusive weave that standard trade suppliers simply cannot offer.

For interior designers, that means drapery, upholstery, and wall panels in a pattern that belongs to your client alone. For fashion designers, it means a fabric no other collection will ever carry. Every yard is 100% cotton — natural, durable, and premium.

The Offer

Now it's your turn to
select your yard of material.

You've seen the fabric. But fabric is not a visual medium — it's a tactile one. You need to hold it, feel the weight, run it between your fingers. We have two ways to put it in your hands.

The Palette

77 colors.
All 100% cotton.

Every color below is photographed directly from the Maurice Brassard & Fils thread card. What you see is exactly what arrives at your door — no guessing, no monitor calibration.

Leslie's weaving studio interior

The Story

12 years.
One loom.
A master weaver.

For Leslie, weaving is not a hobby — it is a primary language. Over 12 years of dedicated practice, she has mastered the intricate art of the loom, developing a precision and focus that most weavers never achieve.

Her autism is her super-power. The same sensory sensitivity that makes the world overwhelming becomes, at the loom, an extraordinary capacity for pattern, detail, and consistency. Every thread is intentional. Every piece is perfect.

"A revival of quality over faceless mass-imports."

Based in Coral Springs, South Florida, Leslie's studio is 30 minutes from the Miami design market — and producing fabric that no one in the Southeast can match.

The Material of Life

Every order funds
fair-wage employment.

The Material of Life is the organization behind Leslie's studio. Its mission: prove that special needs adults can be productively employed at full minimum wage — not in a sheltered workshop, but in a real manufacturing environment producing high-value goods.

Members

Special needs adults assigned to specific production tasks — ball winding, bobbin winding, warp creation, weaving, felling, sewing — based on their abilities. Every member is paid federal minimum wage.

Mentors

Volunteers from the community: parents, special needs instructors, fashion students, and weavers from across the country who want time on a loom that exists nowhere else within a thousand miles.

The Model

A community timeshare manufacturing model — not a charity, not a sheltered workshop. A self-sustaining business that produces premium goods and employs the people others overlook.

The Growth Model

Every order doesn't just generate revenue — it creates employment and expands the studio.
